I've been skiing at Greek from the age of 11. (59 yrs.) There have been some great improvements over the past 5yrs.BUT a big but. The Grooming was better in the 70s when snow making was archaic compaired to today.I don't get it. Death cookies even after a week of 2 feet of natural snow? Still love GP. Moving toward alternatives. Elk Pa. is one.... Recensione completa
I went to ski yesterday. I’ve been going here for many years. The following are positive attributes of Greek Peak. Staff are friendly and helpful. They make sure you get on the lifts safely. Over all grooming of the trails is good. Selection of trails is good as well. For the area overall a good mountain. Now for the negative aspects. Too many trails are consistently closed, Zeus being one such slope. Also I didn’t like the fact that while they were making snow on Zeus ,which incidentally was not opened, people on the ski lift had to turn their face away to avoid the free flowing snow debris . It just seemed a little obnoxious. There are a couple beginner trails where there aren’t enough lights and areas where it is discouragingly dark. At first I thought maybe it was a broken light , but upon inspection , I realized there were no light poles. This is quite alarming and lights need to be put up . On expert trails I noticed some areas had thin amount of snow , to the extent that it was almost bare. I wish the depth of snow could be consistent from top to bottom. The chair lifts seem unreasonably slow , taking too much time away from being on the trails. Also they should put more money into the ski lifts as they are not aesthetically pleasing ( old, worn) in appearance . The building where you get your ski pass and rental need to be updated . It looks a little decrepit and dingy. Please put money into making it look nicer. With that said , I think a 3 star review is fair. It is a good place to ski, it just needs a little more attention to detail. ... Recensione completa
I have a season pass here. And I love it a lot. Great skiing, and the glades are awesome. Not as good as the west, but the best I have skiied in the East. Great Staff and great mountain. Their is something to do for everyone, and I think that any level of skiier could appreciate. Has a lot of varied terrain. Lots of different routes and they allow free skiing. Recommend 10/10. ... Skied the sunday of pres day weekend. No problem with crowds, able to move around, ride different lifts, and generally avoid the clogs. Conditions were good, groomed packed powder, with the usual ice in the afternoon down the middle of the steeper areas, easily avoided if skiing the edges of the slope. The place had a good vibe, smiling people, friendly lifties, and a lovely barmaid in the tiki hut serving a nice hazy IPA. We also took advantage of the ski finger lakes discount, so 30 percent off a ticket! We will be back for sure!... Recensione completa
On Saturday I took a group of 14 skiers to Greek. The conditions were excellent but the chairlifts seem to a breaking down a lot.
My main complaint is there are no discounts for seniors (I am 75). Every place I've skied has discounts for seniors. I skied at Toggenburg on Sunday and the senior ticket was $35 vs full price lift ticket of $57. Greek Peak owns Toggenburg, I hope I didn't mess things up for Toggenburg seniors by mentioning this.

Season pass holder for over 20 years and ski 2-3 days per week at Greek and yes I still love Greek. No, it is not a Colorado level ski area, so don't expect that. But if you want decent skiing at a decent price and not have to drive 4 hours, Greek is the place for you. They have stepped up their game on snow making coverage, new lifts being installed and conditions have been great all winter, even after some serious rain. Restaurant is also excellent and reasonable. Great for kids and an awesome adapative ski program too!... Recensione completa
Place seems better so far this year. Snowmaking is obviously improved, there are more snowmakers and an early season start. They have managed to stay open with a nice base through two rainy weekends. But... They still have a ways to go on lift improvements. A detachable quad would be nice, but the money may not be there. New lifts are obviously coming, the parts of a new tripple are laid out next to Alpha slope. If they continue pumping snow like they have so far, conditions will be better. I think there next big improvement needs to be a high speed detachable lift to replace chair two... One of the oldest chairs in NY.... Recensione completa
Greek Peak is an excellent mountain for all levels of skiers. The runs are wide and long. There are so many runs it never seems crowded. Apres ski on the large outdoor deck overlooking the mountain is wonderful!... Recensione completa
I would never recommend any one go to this ski resort if you are serious about skiing. This ski resort is absolute garbage with rude and unpleasant employees in the lift line who watch over every move you take and never say any things kind or respectful, to the lack of snow and effort put into the skiing side of the resort to the ridiculous cost of $78 for a lift ticket for only 30 trails on a good day and the junior age only being 14 and under where most resorts it’s 17 and under. I’d like to empathize the lack of effort put into the skiing side of the resort. Greek Peak rarely invests money into the skiing side of the resort and when they do it’s normally a terrible decisions. For example the one quad chair lift here at Greek is not detachable and goes extremely slow and all the other chair lifts look as if they are about to fall apart. Another thing Greek Peak refuses to invest in is tons more snow makers, they have such a small amount of snow makers compared to other resorts on the East and rarely use them, resulting in on average only 20 trails during the middle of the season and max of 30 on an amazing day. Greek Peak lacks what good ski resorts do and as of right now there looks to be no improvements in the futures. Stay away from Greek Peak and go to a better mountain like Hunter, Elk, or even Song if you’re in the area.... Recensione completa
