First time skiing ever decided to make the switch From snowboarding and wouldn’t go back. Decided to take a lesson. The instructors were awesome and they taught me everything I needed to know. It was well worth it to make the switch and it was 100% worth it to take a lesson.
Great mountain overall first time skier first time ever and i loved it
Would like to see more trails rather be longer then quicker down the mountain

I was shocked to read about the parking issues in another review. We were there on Presidents’ Weekend and fully expected a complete zoo. We rolled in at 10:30am. The rental line was long (we didn’t rent)and the main lot was full, but the lot across the street was barely half full. I dropped the family and gear and we were booted up and on the lifts before 11. Minimal lines at all the dining areas (10 min max at the main cafeteria during lunch on Presidents’ Day). We had a blast. Lines were way shorter than we expected. We choose Pat’s Peak specifically because they require reservations and the mountain doesn’t overcrowd. FWIW the snow pack is fairly light and if you have not been there and have short young skiers, the lifts require a bit more practice and adult help than some of the other resorts. My short 5 year old can get on/off lifts no problem but she was physically too short for a few of them and needed to jump/get a boost from a parent.
Great for families, excellent staff

I wanted to take my family snow tubing to I went online and paid in advance for the reservations as required. It was Sunday and I figured parking would take a little while so we got there well ahead of time. After AN HOUR of driving in circles in and out of every parking lot on the property we finally said "screw this" and left to go do something else. The parking at this place is a free for all and on top of that they are selling far more tickets than they have parking for. This place is running a scam! They require you to pre-purchase tickets and then sell far more tickets than their parking lots can accommodate. Then when you go and ask for a refund you are told that they have a "no refund policy." This place is a rip off and you should stay away. I live locally and my friends/family and I will not be back. Do yourself a favor and go to Croched Mtn. They are only one town over.

After a week of warm weather, Pat’s Peak still had great coverage on Monday, the 3rd. Had a great time and really enjoyed the uncrowned conditions.

February 2021- Went up to Pat's Peak with my family. Signed up for adult private and child group class. The adult class went well. The child went well until my son got injured while learning a new skill. The instructor did not take my child to first aid or call the parent contact on file in case of an emergency. The instructor let my child return to his family unescorted and we had to take him to first aid for care. While sharing the incident with first aid, mentioned several times that my son was injured while taking a lesson. In reviewing the incident report, they failed to add that detail into the report. I once more mentioned that the injury took place during a lesson. I hope that this detail remains in the incident report and the instructor is reprimanded. While our experience started out well, it ended on a note that makes us concerned about the level of training of instructors for children. It seems that it would be standard for an instructor to escort an injured child back to their family and explain what happened and offer to show us where first aid is - since it was our first time visiting Pat's Peak. Did not see any surfaces or restrooms being sanitized during our 3-4hours visit. No hospitality.
Easy to get to, small mountain
No sanitizing of surfaces apparent

Pat's is the closest mountain to where I live that has a steep run. I go there when it is snowing and I don't want to drive too far. On week days it is uncrowded and you can find untracked snow for hours. They also have some nice steep glades when the natural base is decent (Watch out for the rocks when it's not). There are only about 3 or 4 trails that I ski, but it's fun for a short day when the snow is fresh.
for a small mountain it has a very steep trail
short run

I went to Pats Peak this last Saturday with many members of my family. To get from the lodge to the summit lifts, you have to ski down the hill a little bit, passing by a large metal box that pumps out the smell of waste. I had read on their website that morning that every trail and lift would be open. I was disappointed to find out that this was not the case. The Hurricane and Valley lifts were closed, as well as the Hurricane and Vortex double black diamond trails. One of the main beginner trails coming down from the summit called Blast empties out behind the Hurricane lift, which was closed, and to get back to the lodge I had to take my skis off and climb back up past the smelly machine. When we were getting on the Peak Triple lift, my mom had trouble when a weird conveyor belt pulled her forward, and the staff member running the lift was rude, saying "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Also, the Turbulence lift was really slow, taking 6 minutes to get up 300 or 400 vertical. When my cousin and I were tubing, an immature staff member ran across the lanes and began tubing down, holding up the lines when he was supposed to be working. Some of the double blacks are not really double blacks, and my mom was not going to let me go, but the FIS race trail was only as steep as a regular black. It was one of my last runs and I wanted to enjoy a terrain park, so I headed to the F5 terrain park, which I found out once I was there that it was only one jump and that's it. My family said in a restaurant area outside the sled pub, and the waitress didn't bring over a check until we had been done eating for at least 3 hours. On the pro side, it was my cousin's first day skiing and he had a good time. It is an OK place. The glades were still good.
average beginner terrain
