Una delle gemme nascoste degli Stati Uniti, insieme a Lost Trail. Raggiungerla in auto da Phillipsburg o Anaconda è facile e veloce. Attenzione... quando la neve le strade possono essere pericolose se non si hanno pneumatici chiodati. La strada dal lago alla base è incredibilmente ghiacciata, anche con ottimi pneumatici. Attenzione!!!! Non c'era molta neve quando ci sono stato, ma è stato super divertente. Il versante posteriore era un po' insidioso sulle piste nere doppie, ma fattibile. Mi piacerebbe sciarci con un metro di neve fresca. Le piste nere sul versante posteriore, al riparo dal sole, sono pazzesche con un dislivello perfetto di 600 metri dalla cima alla base. Non c'è nessuno. Adoro questo posto e mi piacerebbe sciarci con tanta neve. Non sarà mai folle come Big Sky o persino Bridger. Mi piacerebbe trasferirmi lì vicino quando andrò in pensione.

Un mio cugino *molto* informato mi ha portato qui un anno... Vivo abbastanza lontano dal Montana, quindi mentre ero lì a trovarlo ho pensato: "Perché non andiamo a Big Sky?" Beh... Gli skipass erano davvero economici, non c'erano code agli impianti, c'erano *pochissimi* altri sciatori e snowboarder in montagna, e abbiamo sentito il leggero sibilo della neve intatta sotto gli sci per tutto il giorno. Ero stato a Breck, Copper, Steamboat, Vail, Keystone, Winter Park, Beaver Creek, Snowbasin, Whistler, ecc. e solo Whistler aveva piste migliori. *Solo* Whistler. Discovery non è così grande, ma... per la mancanza di code agli impianti, i prezzi incredibili e soprattutto la neve incredibile e tutto... intatto, è davvero fantastico. Una cosa è amare un comprensorio sciistico. Un'altra è quando la tua idea di quanto possa essere bello sciare cambia per sempre. Di tutte le sciate che ho fatto, niente è mai stato paragonabile alla neve e all'aria incontaminate e incontaminate di Discovery.

If you wanna place to be all by yourself skiing, this is it… And the backside is well. Epic when there’s snow… Could be one of the best ever. If you’re looking for a place to stay after, Phillipsburg is super cool – Anaconda is meh, but it has lots of food and bars. My recommendation is to go to Phillipsburg ski discovery, get a good Airbnb.

Love this resort ! The staff is top notch. Prices are amazing food is excellent ! Ski instructors are the best! The snow is amazing. Terrain is always well groomed, and the bumps rock they even have a triple black run. To skip the lines of people I suggest weekday skiing, it’s like having your own private ski resort!!

Discovery is a wonderful small ski area run by folks who really know what they’re doing. The result is fantastic grooming, lifts that run and the best food values of any Montana resort (check out the fresh rolls, cookies, soups, entrees). The beginner area is perfect for kids and viewing parents. There’s a full range of runs including a double-diamond backside for the deepest days and more steeply inclined. The views from the ski hill Are a mini Lake Tahoe with the Pintler Wilderness Peaks surrounding Georgetown Lake, The drive from the north through cowboy land is peaceful and spectacular. Overall, a great experience if you stay local or drive remotely.

This is a great local hill. One of, if not, my favorite. Three back side terrain is quite fun and you can find some technical terrain if you're looking. However, the runs are fairly short in comparison, especially on the steeper back side.

We’ve skied western Montana for 30+ years and choose Disco as our favorite for size, variety of terrain from too easy to too hard, lack of crowds (even on busy weekends, skiers are well-dispersed and lines aren’t bad), and their affordable season passes. And the scenery is great, too!
