Ski Santa Fe - Informazioni turistiche

Twenty-five minutes north of historic downtown Santa Fe the ski area of the same name sits high up in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, surrounded by the Santa Fe National Forest. A lofty base elevation of 10,350 feet - nearly two miles high - ensures a generous supply of light, dry powder, some 225 inches of it a year. Terrain Take in the views of Arizona and Colorado from the 12,000-foot summit of Tesuque Peak, then drop into a series of small bowls, glades, chutes, tree-lined groomed trails, and open slopes. This mostly advanced intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain sprawls across the shoulders and face of the upper mountain before coming together again at mid-mountain. With only a couple of exceptions the rest of the mountain is dedicated to easier to more difficult cruising. The Santa Fe Super Chief Quad is the easiest way to access this terrain, but the Sierra Chair serves much the same territory. Little kids have Chipmunk Corner and their own little lift in a separate area at the base. Totemoff's Bar and Grill at mid-mountain is a fine place to stop for lunch on a sunny day. Down at the base you'll find La Casa Caf� and Outdoor Grill and La Casa Mall. All skier services and rentals will also be found at the base. Off-slope Fun The city of Santa Fe, 7000 feet above sea level, offers a variety of lodging, fine restaurants, shopping, night life, interesting galleries and museums, and many cultural activities. Native American craft shops, a lively performing arts scene, and centuries-old Spanish architecture give added grace to the city's sun-drenched streets.
