Saddleback Ski Area opened in 1960. Even though the area receives an average of 186 inches of snow per year, 85 percent of Saddleback's 132 skiable acres is covered by snowmaking in the event Mother Nature is not as generous every year. Skiing or boarding terrain is almost equally distributed between beginner (35 percent) and intermediate (30 percent) and advanced (35 percent) runs. Give its longest run--2.5 miles--a try.
