Nestled in the beautiful Big Bear Valley in the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) is only one tank of gas away (round trip) from nearly anywhere in Southern California. Terrain The terrain at Bear Mountain is geared toward freestyle on almost every run. From beginner rollers to huge booters, a rail garden, a halfpipe and Superpipe, Bear has it all with about 150 jumps and 80 jibs in all. In addition, Bear Mountain has the largest beginner's area in SoCal and the most challenging steeps for experts, such as Geronimo and Rip's Run. On powder days, three canyons are available for freeriding. The two full service Sport Shops carry all the mountain essentials as well as a well-stocked selection of the latest in clothes and accessories. For the Hungry and weary BBMR has 14 different food outlets on-site from Mexican and Asian to traditional and fine dining, 3 full service bars, an espresso bar and terrific lounges. Despite its relative proximity to Metro Southern California, Big Bear Lake maintains its small town look and feel. Lodging abounds in the Big Bear Valley, from the Northwood's Resort Hotel in the Village to cozy cabins by the lake to the new Block Hotel for the young snowboard crowd.
