Alpine Meadows - Informazioni turistiche
The view from the base lodge suggests that Alpine is a relatively small area. However, looks can be deceiving. In reality, Alpine boosts 2400 acres of terrain on more than 100 trails and offers a good balance for skiers and snowboarders regardless of ability level.
Terrain
Beginners will want to start out to the left of the lodge where the majority of the green terrain is clustered. Here you will find the Subway and Meadow doubles as well as the Tiegel Poma which also provides access to a beginner terrain park. For the intermediates in the group, Alpine offers up about 40% of the total terrain. The Roundhouse quad, to the right of the base lodge is a good place to start as it serves intermediate trails almost exclusively. Another option is to work your way up to the Scott triple and head to the backside of Scott Peak which also holds a number of the blue squares. There is still plenty left for the advanced skiers and riders all over the mountain including some wide open bowls, some tight glades and a halfpipe for the freeriders.
Off-slope Fun
Truckee, about a 20 minute drive from the mountain offers the bulk of the off-mountain entertainment. Here you will find a number of restaurant and lodging options as well as shopping. If you prefer the outdoor activities, fly fishing, snowmobiling and dog sled tours are all available.
